ruby200 - A release of Ruby 2.0.0. This version provides substantial performance and reliability improvements and includes a number of new features and improved debugging capabilities, while maintaining source level backward compatibility with Ruby 1.9.3.

Instructions

You can get started in three easy steps:

# 1. Install a package with repository for your system:
# On CentOS, install package centos-release-scl available in CentOS repository:
$ sudo yum install centos-release-scl

# On RHEL, enable RHSCL repository for you system:
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

# 2. Install the collection:
$ sudo yum install ruby200

# 3. Start using software collections:
$ scl enable ruby200 bash

The last command runs the Bash shell in the environment with ruby200 Software Collection enabled, which means that at this point you are able to use ruby just as a normal application. Some examples of available commands follow:

$ ruby my-app.rb
$ gem install activeresource
$ bundle
$ irb

In order to view the individual components included in this collection, including additional rubygems plugins, you can run:

$ sudo yum list ruby200\*

Ruby Software Collection as Docker Formatted Container

On CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 you can pull the image with the following command:

$ docker pull openshift3/ruby-20-rhel7
